Federal Judge Strikes Down VA Law Regarding Delegates at Convention
In an opinion released Monday, U.S. District Judge Robert Payne struck down a Virginia law that restricts the voting activity of Virginia delegates at national political party conventions. The plaintiff, Virginia delegate Beau Correll, plans to vote for a candidate other than presumptive Republican nominee Donald Trump, and argued that the Virginia law would impose criminal penalties on him if he did so. The case is Correll v. Herring.
