Rejected Absentee Ballots in Colorado
The Denver Post is reporting that thousands of mail ballots have been rejected in Colorado, including over 3,000 in Denver. Reasons for rejection included signature discrepancies, missing signatures, and no copy of an ID when one was required. Voters whose ballots were rejected will be notified and will have eight days to respond and verify their ballot. Several county officials said they anticipated numerous rejections for signature issues and that such issues were resolved in the allowed time during previous elections. There were 8,003 absentee ballots rejected in 2008 according to the U.S. Election Assistance Commission.
